Care Request / Intake List

Please note that Roots & Wings keeps an Intake List at all times. There are many factors and considerations involved in placing children into our programs and a request for care, even well in advance of need, is not a guarantee of placement or prioritization. First, we follow all licensing regulations for age brackets and staffing ratios when looking to place children into care. Second, we look at your enrolment request and placement from a scheduling perspective, dependent on the space available, the staffing schedule at the time, etc. As stated in the Family Handbook, priority at Roots & Wings is given to full time care, and we accept a minimum three day per week enrolment.

Intake typically occurs annually in September. Availability throughout the year is dependent upon the natural ebb and flow of enrolment within the program and the Intake List is always the first reference point when a space becomes available. At this point, we will reference the list against the space that has become available and seek the best fit.

We will occasionally run through our Intake List and check in with you to see if you are still seeking care and if you would like to make any changes. Please also feel free to check in via email any time to let us know that you are still looking and if you have any updates or changes you would like to make to the intake notes for your family.
